Our Vision
The key aims are to:
Reduce traffic congestion within the town.
Open-up the riverside, making it a focal point for the town raising and reinforcing the natural asset of the length of the river serving the identity of the town.
Create new public spaces and destinations that build upon and relate to both historic and contemporary Guildford.
Attract alternative uses to complement the town’s retail economy.
Incorporate and integrate residential uses to the town centre; limit urban sprawl and protect the town’s green boundaries.
An integrated approach to flood protection and alleviation that addresses the risk of flooding but is coordinated with design development and measures to overcome traffic congestion.
